Wow...Just Wow!!!

So in the midst of all these changes happening at FSID headquarters (hang on in there I can reveal all very soon) Ian and myself too a trip down to that there London at the end of February to see what was what and help in our own way!

We got to chatting with the team and the subject of how much we had raised over the years came up.  Shockingly I had no idea and combined with some fabulous friends and family the total we figured had to be a pretty impressive one.

In the 6 years since Alexander was snatched from our family it has been my mission to never ever let anyone forget him, that will never happen as long as I breathe and I've wanted to create a legacy for the son that wouldn't be able to create his own as the others can.

I can't Thank all of you enough that set yourself a challenge and then complete it in memory of Alexander in 6 years with the help of all of you Alexander's memory has raised a staggering
£53,933.10 for The Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths.

Ian and myself would like to Thank Alexander's Uncles Andrew, Peter and Daniel who between them have raised over £6800 by running marathons. I say that quite flippantly but I know I would never do it so Thank You all.

Lisa Preston a fantastic (and slightly mad) friend who has donned her running shoes to raise over £1500 and Carla Soanes who every year organises her own Mile in Memory of a boy she never met and in the process has donated £1190 to FSID.

Various events held such as Christmas Concerts, Jolly Tots fundraisers and The Pantomime held by Penistone Players have contributed £1800 of the total.

We took donations at Alexander's funeral our first ever contribution to FSID and even in those early days we managed nearly £900.

As we do every May we are holding a Mile in Memory this year and so far through those miles our total is £3686.

Finally our big one Alexander's Charity Ball an event which I would never have foreseen becoming as successful as it has and which seems to be going from strength to strength.  It encompases everything about Alexander's legacy fun, friends and memories.  £37,937 is our total in 3 years!  This includes matched donations made through HSBC's pound for pound scheme and is a phenomenal amount.

Thank You to every single person who time and time again puts their hands into their ever emptying pockets and donates whatever they can in Alexander's memory.  It will never cover exactly how we feel about this vast sum of money but it gives me the strength to carry on fundraising knowing how many families that money has gone to help, how many unnecessary deaths we have helped to prevent and that maybe one day we will get an answer, a reason as to why it was our son.

Tears are making it difficult to type. Gorgeous photos... the video at the end made me chuckle for a split second at how they were crawling after each other.
What an incredible amount raised, and what an incredible family you are. Alexander will never be forgotten xxxxxx
